Mentoring Options

Cody’s Big Brother Greg travels for work and tells Cody about the places he goes, shares about his life and thoughts about things. Now Cody has in the back of his mind, “What would Greg think?” The positive things he sees in Greg and Greg’s example are things Cody is taking on in his own life.

About Our Program

Our programs are about spending time with a child. We pair a volunteer mentor one to one with a child and we call this a match.

Once matched, Big Brothers and Big Sisters develop friendships with their Little Brothers and Little Sisters. It’s that simple.

We have 2 programs in which you can volunteer with a child!

School-based: Bigs and Littles meet once a week in schools, libraries and community centers, to talk and have fun. It’s not about being a tutor… it’s about being a friend.

Community-based: Bigs and Littles meet 2 to 4 times a month and the time spent together is flexible to fit your busy schedule. They hang out in the community and go to museums, sports events, movies, and more. It’s up to you and your Little!

We’ll Support Your Friendship

When you’re part of something Big, you’re not alone. Each match is supported by professional Match Support Specialists who regularly check in with volunteers, children, and parents, and are always available to answer your questions.

Every quarter, we send you our activities newsletter-full of free and low-cost ideas for outings like baseball games, jazz concerts, or movies. Periodically, the agency is able to provide tickets to theater, sporting events, and other programs.
